The bandanna was chosen as the symbol of CanTeen because certain forms of cancer treatment result in hair loss and many people choose to wear a bandanna during this period.

It's never too early to show your support for National Bandanna Day! If you are an individual wanting to get involved, you could:

  • Register to order and sell bandannas to people in your school, university, local area, work colleagues
  • Register to become a volunteer, eiether as a packer during stock-take times or selling bandannas on the streets

Bandaged Bear Day (Friday 30th March 2007)

All money raised goes directly to The Children's Hospital at Westmead, all with the aim of making sick kids better.

Bandaged BearTM, the mascot of The Children's Hospital at Westmead, is a symbol of all the hospital stands for: a caring, healing environment providing specialist medical care, support, and resources to the children of NSW and their families.

There is no doubt that Bandaged BearTM is a popular and much loved Bear among the community. It is the love of our Bear and growing support of The Children's Hospital at Westmead that has seen Bandaged BearTM Day go from strength to strength.

    World AIDS Day (1st December)

Around forty million people are living with HIV throughout the world - and that number increases in every region every day. In the UK alone, more than 60,000 people are living with HIV and more than 7,000 are diagnosed every year. Ignorance and prejudice are fuelling the spread of a preventable disease.

World AIDS Day, 1st December, is an opportunity for people worldwide to unite in the fight against HIV and AIDS. This year, it's up to you, me, and us to stop the spread of HIV and end prejudice.

    World Vision

    40 Hour Famine (17-19 August 2007)

The 40 Hour Famine is a fantastic way to do something real for hungry kids. Going without food (or something else that really matters to you) for 40 hours is a great way for young Australians to get a taste of what life's like for kids struggling with poverty and hunger around the world.

This year's Famine focus country is East Timor, one of Australia's closest neighbours and the poorest nation in Asia. A shocking 40% of kids in East Timor suffer from malnutrition - one of the highest rates in the world.

The good news is that every $40 raised in the Famine will help feed and care for eight hungry kids for one month.

Famine funds are also supporting World Vision's work in Mozambique, Tanzania, and Zambia, and helping poor families survive natural disasters like floods, earthquakes, and cyclones.
